Another giveaway and my excuse for lack of blogging.....

Good heavens I am neglecting my blog this month! I do have a valid excuse though..... I took and English Lit class this summer and I need to clarify, I LOVE English Literature....my major is English/Creative Writing, so you know....BUT in the summer it is so intense I haven't even had more than 1 hour to spend quilting on my longarm. (imagine my lip pouting out past my nose!) But, in that hour, I did have some sewing fun! This is my living room, well, my OLD living room now turned studio! I am super excited for June 30th to come as this is the last day of my class! SO,......bear with me folks...please! I'm on the home stretch.

So, below you'll see my set up. It's a start....the quilt that is on the longarm now is really 2 sheets purchased at Savers (second hand store) with warm and white as the batting. This is my practice quilt...one of them anyway. I'm also quilting the charity quilts on this badboy too!

Below you'll see my first attempts at stars freehand. I want to buy the lasor styllus for the machine, but it does have the PC Quilter too! (double score!) So, what do you think of my stars? I love them and think they turned out pretty good for a first try.

Now....to move on and do some celebrating! Like I said a couple posts back, I'm having more giveaways this summer and it's time for another one!!! I found this book on quilting with selvages! I thought it was fabulous! With this book I am also giving away all the selvages that I have to add to your collection! This book has so many fun and cool patterns that it will be impossible NOT to make them all!

Quilts from Selvage Edge by Karen Griska

Here's a sneak peak inside the book! Tons of easy to follow directions and great pictures for following step by step! Like I said, a bag of selvages will go with this book to add to your collection.

SO...here's the skinny!

You can enter to win five times!

Good Luck!!

  6. I have been saving salvages for a while. I also save all those little instructions when you buy panels that have instructions. I would probably make placemats unless I had a book like this to get more creative ideas. Thanks for the giveaway.

  29. I've enjoyed Karen's blog, and articles about her (the first I read in DUQ)use of selvages. A selvage pincushion or mug rug interest me for "getting started". Thanks for the chance to own her book and use your selvages.
